Our Supporters Past and Present

SOSUA KIDS receives financial and other aid from a wide variety of supporters. These include fund-raising partners across the world, local business sponsors and individuals who generously support our work.

Individual Supporters

The bedrock of our support is of course provided by the many, many people who over the last nine years have put their hands in their wallets and given us cash donations, large and small, in order to support our work. TO ALL OF YOU WE GIVE OUR HEARTFELT THANKS.

Other Helpers

Many individuals and groups have also provided their time and effort by organising fund-raising events and other activities both in Sosúa and other parts of the world. Many others are still involved in our work.

Fund-Raising Partners

SOSUA KIDS is proud to benefit from, and work in collaboration with, other partner groups which share our aim of supporting the education of young people in the Sosúa area. These currently include

Kids of Sosua, a group of generous supporters from the Isle of Man, UK.

Over the years this group has been a major supporter of SOSUA KIDS. And has made generous and regular donations. Large copies of their cheques can be seen in The Britannia Bar in Sosúa.

 Other Sponsors

SOSUA KIDS has received significant financial and other support from many businesses and individual people. In some cases this has been a direct financial donation. In other cases professional services have been provided at either no cost or at a reduced charge in order to help us with our work. Some businesses have provided us with publicity on their web sites (See our Links page). Local bars have made our collection jars available to their generous customers or have hosted our fund-raising events. Other businesses have provided prizes for these events.

Other Practical Help

Two local businesses have provided recycled computers for use in schools we support.

Our publicity leaflets, which are distributed via local hotels and bars, have been sponsored by a generous donor.

The administrative and other costs of issuing the vouchers which we issue for students to buy their school uniforms have been met by another donor.

A visitor from Canada has agreed to contribute backpacks which kids are required to have before they are allowed to attend school.

Legal and accountancy fees for SOSÚA KIDS are being paid by two Sosúa residents.
