Brugal Rum Raffle

Visitors to the North Coast Players' production of "Tom Dick and Harry" at the Sosua Bay Casino on Friday and Saturday 10 and 11 February will have the opportunity to take part in a raffle in support of Sosua Kids.  On each night the prize will be a bottle of Brugal 1888 Gran Reserva rum generously donated by Brugal.

This is a limited-production premium rum which normally sells for about 1800 pesos on Sosua ($50 in the States and £38 in the UK).  It is double-distilled in american oak before being finished in sherry casks to help provide its special flavour.  An online supplier (masterofmalt.com) has published the following tasting notes

Nose: Toasty and sweet with charred oak, sultanas, dates and honey, with a touch of gentle smoke.

Palate: Buttery and sweet with butterscotch, Demerara sugar, manuka honey and wafts of wood smoke.

Finish: Toffee apple and salty butter.

Clearly a real prize for the connoisseur !
